It all started when...
I have always been fascinated with the mind body connection. I remember being 10 years old and massaging my aunt Tina's tight neck and shoulders. Tina had breast cancer and was in a lot of pain. At that young age I instinctively knew that in order to relax the body, the mind too had to be relaxed. I'd say to Tina, "Ok, now think of the happiest memory or place from your childhood..." as I massaged her neck and was always so excited to feel the difference it made.
The path I took growing up as a young adult didn't start out in energy medicine or healing though. My undergraduate degree is in International Relations from DePaul University and in high school I was an exchange student to Germany. I've always been an observer of cultures and people. This path lead me to the Boston area where I worked at a think tank as a research analyst. Knowing that "something" was missing, I pursued Reiki and Massage Therapy in hopes of finding my calling.
In 2005 I decided to further my studies and advance my knowledge of the energetic systems by studying Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Santa Monica, CA. A 4 year full-time degree was received in 2009. However, I had the misfortune of being struck by a motorcycle 2 weeks prior to my graduation date. This set me back for a few years as was hospitalized for 2 weeks and had severe injuries (major concussion with brain bleed, pelvic fractures, torn ACL, and a severed ear that needed to be surgically repaired). As a result I did not take my Acupuncture license exam as I suffered from severe migraines and brain fog from the accident. Nonetheless, I completed my degree, and the information and friendships I gained from my time in Santa Monica are invaluable.
I moved to Colorado in 2010 to be closer to family. In the Summer of 2011 I started my own practice Body Mind Energy Center with hopes of creating a Spiritual/Healing Center for the Denver area. I started my solo practice which quickly grew to a thriving wellness center, offering yoga, massage, reiki and reiki classes, acupuncture, reflexology, workshops for spiritual growth and more. I was thrilled to bring this type of healing environment and opportunity for community, connection and personal growth to Denver.
Life is ever-changing....and in 2015 I gave birth to the most amazing little baby boy. His name is Asa, which means "healer". And a little healer he is. Asa is as sharp as a tack and quite the little observer-healer already. With this wonderful life experience and opportunity to be a mother, I decided to downsize my business and put more focus on my family.
Relocating to Lakewood and going back to working solo is a wonderful opportunity for me to focus on my family and spend more dedicated attention to my individual clients without the distractions of running a small business.
I am very excited to continue my work as a healer and solo-entrepreneur and teacher and look forward to helping you on your own personalized path of healing.
